Burlington man arrested after hit and run injures child

A 23-year-old Burlington man was arrested after a hit and run resulted in a 10-year-old being rushed to the hospital, according to the Burlington Police Department.

Burlington police officers were called to the scene on August 7 at 9:00 p.m in response to a motor vehicle crash in the 200 block of Joy Dr. Once they arrived, officers found that a 10-year-old had been struck by the vehicle, and the driver had fled the scene.

Police identified Cody Lee Struck, 23, as the driver of the vehicle.

The injured child had been rushed to an area hospital for further treatment. Struck is currently incarcerated at Alamance County Jail under a $25,000 secured bond.
