Burlington Opening Towson Store

A new store is coming to Towson Place this month.

TOWSON, MD — A new store will open at Towson Place this month that will offer low prices on brand-name items. Burlington will hold a grand opening on Friday, Sept. 14, and family fun day on Saturday, Sept. 15.

The 43,600-square-foot store will sell clothing as well as products for the home. Trucks arrive several times a week with new merchandise, which retails for about 65 percent off prices offered at other stores.

“We are thrilled to open a new Burlington in the Towson community," Burlington Stores President, CEO and Chairman Tom Kingsbury said in a statement. "This new location brings jobs to the community, and provides a great shopping experience for the entire family."

Approximately 75 new associates were hired to work in the store, according to officials.

"Whether they’re looking for brand-name clothing, stylish home décor items, or anything for baby, customers will enjoy significant savings and discover new merchandise arrivals each week,” Kingsbury said.

To celebrate its grand opening there will be several activities:

Friday, Sept. 14 — Ribbon cutting

  • 8:30 a.m. — Ribbon cutting with local officials and community members

  • 9 a.m. — Store opens

Saturday, Sept. 15 — Family fun day

  • 9 a.m. — Store opens

  • 10 a.m.-1 p.m. — First 500 customers receive a free Burlington tote. There will be opportunities for gift card giveaways, and children's activities will be offered.

It is a tradition for Burlington to give back to the surrounding community. At its grand opening, pallets of new merchandise will be donated to TurnAround, a Baltimore area nonprofit based in Towson that provides support services to sexual assault and domestic violence victims. In partnership with AdoptAClassroom.org, Burlington will also donate $10,000 to a nearby school for materials to benefit teachers and students.

Burlington is at 1238 Putty Hill Avenue in the Towson Place shopping center. Once it opens Sept. 14, store hours will be 9 a.m.-10 p.m., Monday to Saturday; and 9 a.m.-9:30 p.m. Sunday.
