New Burlington store to open Friday in Tuscaloosa

Burlington, formerly known as Burlington Coat Factory, will officially open its first Tuscaloosa location Friday.

The national discount retailer is at 1320 McFarland Blvd., in the former home of Bed, Bath and Beyond, in the Shoppes at Legacy Park shopping center.

Burlington will celebrate its grand opening with a weekend of giveaways following the 9 a.m. Friday ribbon-cutting ceremony. On Friday and Saturday, the first 100 customers, ages 18 and older, will receive a $10 bonus card to be used toward their purchase. OnSunday, customers will receive a free Burlington umbrella, while supplies last, with no purchase necessary.

The store will also be donating $5,000 to a nearby school through its long-standing partnership with the national nonprofit organization AdoptAClassroom.org.

Store hours will be 9 a.m.-11 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 9 a.m.-12 a.m. Friday and Saturday and 9 a.m.-10 p.m. on Sunday.

With up to 60% off other retailers’ prices every day on brand-name merchandise arriving regularly, Burlington says customers will discover something new every time they shop.

“Our goal is to continue to offer communities low prices on brand-name merchandise for the entire family and home,” said Michael O’Sullivan, CEO of Burlington Stores.

“We’re continuing to expand our footprint across the country and are excited to be opening a new store in Tuscaloosa. We look forward to giving local customers the chance to discover big savings on a wide range of products,” he said.

Burlington offers a wide assortment of merchandise, including items for women, men and kids, along with home décor.

The Tuscaloosa location marks the 13th Burlington store in Alabama and the retailer continues to expand nationwide.
