Burr Ridge Little League Plans To Return This Year

BURR RIDGE, IL — The Burr Ridge Willowbrook Little League has opened 2021 registration for all 6-15 year old age divisions, according to a league news release.

"The entire board and league volunteers worked very hard last year to ensure a successful league relaunch, and while we ultimately cancelled our season last year due to COVID-19 concerns, we continue to remain confident in our decision to put player, family and league staff safety first," the league's president, Robert Gallegos, said in the release.

"Ultimately, we were still able to complete a lot of work, which will translate into a successful 2021 season, and have worked tirelessly, over the past year, with the Burr Ridge Park District to ensure that we will have the appropriate safety guidelines in place to have a safe season this year," Gallegos said. "We have great faith that we will get the cooperation from everyone involved to restore this essential community pillar."

You can register your child via the Burr Ridge Park District site. Those who act early can receive an early bird $25 discount available through Feb. 19. The league also is providing an additional $25 registration refund for all travel players.

The league said it needs the community's support to relaunch efforts and is continuing to look for volunteers to fill openings for the league's board. Coaches are also being sought. Those interested should email brwbllpresident@gmail.com.

The league is also seeking community business sponsors to help with 2021 costs. Main sponsorship packages are listed on the league's website.

“We understand the impact that COVID-19 has had to our community businesses and the uncertainty that still exists," Gallegos said. "We are willing to partner and help promote our local businesses in any way that we can.”

The league also encourages people to "like" its Facebook page and visit its website.
