Burr Ridge man handed 10 year federal prison sentence for possession of child pornography

CHICAGO — A Burr Ridge man will spend 10 years in federal prison for possession of child pornography.

55-year-old Miguel Ascencios, also known as Allison Wou, pleaded guilty to a federal charge of receipt of child pornography in 2023, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office of the Northern District of Illinois.

Federal prosecutors say in 2017 and 2018, Ascencios received and shared computer files depicting child pornography using social media and file-sharing services.

Ascencios was found to be in possession of over 3,000 images and videos of children engaged in sexually explicit conduct, prosecutors say. Videos depicting the sexual exploitation of toddlers were also found among the thousands of files in his possession.

Morris Pasqual, Acting United States Attorney for the Northern District of Illinois Morris Pasqual, and Inspector-in-Charge of the Chicago Division of the U.S. Postal Inspection Service Ruth M. Mendonça announced the sentence.

In addition to his prison term, Ascencios was also ordered to pay $7,000 in restitution to four of his victims.
