Emma Troxell knew from a young age that she wanted to play college basketball one day. Anyone who has seen her play over the past few years knew she'd reach that goal, but on Thursday, she made it official.

Troxell, a senior at Bushland High School, signed her national letter of intent to play basketball for Abilene Christian University on Thursday at Bushland. It was a moment she'd been waiting for her whole life.

"It feels amazing," she said. "I worked for this for a very long time and it feels great to achieve that goal."

Troxell was recently named the AGN girls basketball preseason Player of the Year. She averaged a double-double last season with 18 points and 10 rebounds per game. She'll have one last season to lead the Lady Falcons to new heights before taking her talents to Abilene. She's looking forward to the next challenge.

"I'm really excited to just be with the team, the coaches and the community," Troxell said. "I think it's a really good place and I'm excited for it."

Troxell wasn't the only Bushland athlete signing their letter of intent on Thursday.

Senior Josh Bass signed to play baseball with Lamar Community College in Lamar, Colorado.

Bass made the AGN baseball Super Team as a first team selection in the infield last year. He hit .524 with an OBP of .624, scored 40 runs while hitting 57 RBI and seven home runs while stealing 28 bases. Oh, and he had a .930 fielding percentage on defense and went 10-1 with a 1.39 ERA on the mound.

So, yeah, he's pretty good.

"It feels really nice," he said. "I feel really accomplished. It takes hard work to go to the next level. I just feel really accomplished about all of the hard work I've put in coming to fruition."

Sydnee Adde of Panhandle signs with MAC

There was another signing Thursday morning out at Panhandle High School.

Senior Sydnee Adde signed her LOI to play college basketball with Mid-America Christian University. MAC competes at the NAIA level of competition.

Adde has been an excellent player for the Lady Panthers throughout her career. She averaged eight points, four assists and five rebounds per game last season.
