BUSINESS BUZZ: Hiring fair at Englewood Hospital, free CNA training
HCA Florida Englewood Hospital will hold a hiring event March 30, 3:30 p.m. to 6 p.m., at Farlow’s on the Water, 2080 S. McCall Road, in Englewood.
The hospital is seeking experienced and new graduate registered nurses, licensed practical nurses, nurse externs, operating room and cardiac catheterization laboratory nurses and technicians, nursing assistants, laboratory workers (phlebotomists and technologists), sterile processing technicians, food and nutrition service assistants and maintenance technicians.
Hiring managers will be available to meet with participants and answer questions. They will be extending same-day offers to qualified candidates.

CareerEdge is partnering with Suncoast Technical College to offer a free Certified Nursing Assistant fast-track program, which will launch in May. The curriculum will be a condensed version of STC’s CNA program.
The program begins May 2, 2023, and runs through June 14, 2023, with classes held Monday-Thursday from 8 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at STC’s main campus, 4748 Beneva Road, Sarasota.
In addition, Sarasota Memorial Hospital will host the participants for clinical trainings during the first two weeks of June from 6:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
Interested applicants must interview with CareerEdge staff. To be eligible, applicants must take a background and drug test, be a Sarasota or Manatee County resident and apply by April 17.

The Greater Sarasota Chamber of Commerce will host the 2023 Grand Expo: Business & Community Marketplace, presented by Sam’s Club, at Robarts Arena, April 6, 4:30 p.m. to 7 p.m.
The after-hours networking event will connect local chamber members’ products and services and non-profit organizations to businesses and the residential community.
Attendees will enjoy complimentary "lite bites" and a cash-only bar. The event will also feature prizes, including a Sam’s Club Four Burner Gas Grill and a $250 UTC Gift Card.
This networking event is open to the public with free admission and parking. Robarts Arena is at 3000 Ringling Blvd.
