BUSINESS BUZZ: Sarasota Home Watch accredited for the sixth year
• Sarasota Home Watch Inc. has earned accreditation from the National Home Watch Association for the sixth year.
NHWA was formed in 2009 to establish and maintain the highest industry standards for home watch services throughout the United States and Canada.
Owner Cheryl Dexter started Sarasota Home Watch Inc. in 2016 and performs all home inspections personally. Her company is insured and bonded, background-checked and smoke-free.
Dexter uses the latest GPS-enabled reporting technology to send customized reports with photographs. With every visit, she checks air-conditioning and humidity levels and plumbing, and looks for signs of pests or vandalism.
In addition to her detailed interior check, Dexter monitors pool and lawn services, and contractor work, ensuring they are being performed satisfactorily.
To adjust to the times, she has adopted virtual client meetings and can start watching a home within hours of a phone interview.
Sarasota Home Watch Inc. serves Sarasota and Manatee counties.
• Nancy’s Concierge and Home Watch Services, of Venice, has earned accreditation from the National Home Watch Association for the fifth year.

Owner Nancy Scott previously owned a professional organizing company, was a party planner and was catering manager for Hyatt Hotels.
She is Chapter Lead for the Central West Florida Chapter of the NHWA.
