Grants

The Rotary “Intersection to Care After Incarceration” project has been selected as a State Farm Neighborhood Assist® Top 200 Finalist and needs public votes to secure funding. Patti Mellard, Rotary Against Human Trafficking Foundation chair, said, “More than 50 women are released from jail in Shawnee County every month without any kind of reintegration plan. We want to change that. Offering the right kind of support and connections helps them on a path to productive, healthy lives — and in turn helps our community be safer and more prosperous.” Rotary Against Human Trafficking Foundation’s program to support these women leaving incarceration helps citizens who are extremely vulnerable and typically on their own. The grant from State Farm is vital to the program’s sustainability. Rotary needs members of the public to rally friends and neighbors to vote online through May 6. They can vote up to 10 times a day.
