Anderson named Melbourne Chamber's director of business development

The Melbourne Regional Chamber recently added Monica Anderson as the organization’s director of business development.

Anderson came to the Space Coast from Rhode Island, via Orlando.

Chamber officials said her expertise in community relations in health care and urban revitalization make her a great fit for the Melbourne Regional Chamber.

In her previous experience, she managed the process for selecting and awarding more than $350,000 in health–improvement grant investments; cultivated more than 150 partnerships with public and private sectors; and led fundraising campaigns generating more than $850,000 for charities, including the American Heart Association, the American Cancer Society and the Rhode Island Community Foodbank.

She also helped coordinate efforts for the first Downtown Improvement District in Providence, Rhode Island, and sold the original naming rights sponsorship for the Providence Civic Center for $4.25 million.

In her role at the Melbourne chamber, Anderson will work to strengthen the chamber’s partnership strategy, retention efforts, communications and relationships with its partners and Space Coast community.

Senger named Cocoa’s director of communication, economic development

The city of Cocoa recently named Samantha Senger as its director of communication and economic development.

Senger, who has been with Cocoa for more than 18 years, previously was assistant to the city manager and Cocoa’s public relations specialist. She began her career in Cocoa in 2005.

Senger graduated from Florida Atlantic University with a degree in marketing.

Cocoa has a population of about 20,000 residents.

Lane joins staff of Harbor City Physical Therapy

MacKenzie Lane recently joined the staff of Harbor City Physical Therapy.

Lane started her path to becoming a physical therapist while studying exercise science at Florida State University. After graduating, she worked for a few months at a physical therapy clinic before attending physical therapy school. She graduated from the University of St. Augustine for Health Sciences with her doctorate degree in physical therapy.

During physical therapy school, Lane gained additional experience and training in manual therapy techniques, and is pursuing her completion of the Manual Therapy Certification with the University of St. Augustine.

She also has additional experience with treating pediatrics.

Harbor City Physical Therapy opened in 2006, and now has three locations ― two in Melbourne and one in Rockledge.
