There will be kids' activities, a dunk tank to raise money for Matthew's Hope, food trucks, a drawing for a 60-inch television and special offers. Visit launchcu.com for a list of all the celebration activities.

“We’ve come a long way,” Launch Credit Union President Joe Mirachi said. “And, at 60 years old, it feels like Launch is just getting started because we are always expanding our products and services. For example, we are almost finished with our project to improve our business products and services. Launch will offer digital banking for business accounts, business credit cards, treasury services and more to make life easier for our business members. Our aim is to help local businesses grow and serve their customers better.”

Kelly Haskins, vice president of marketing for Launch, said she has seen so much growth and improvement in the 16 years that she has worked for Launch.

“Not only does Launch provide its employees educational opportunities, but it also strives to provide financial educational opportunities to anyone in the community. From school activities teaching our youth about money smarts, to fraud seminars and After-Hour Financial Power Hours in our branches, Launch is always finding unique ways to share financial education.”

In April 1963, with one small room, a handful of staff and 61 members, NASA-MILA opened as a credit union for Kennedy Space Center employees. Sixty years later, now known as Launch Credit Union, the credit union has grown to serve the financial needs of people and business in Brevard, Volusia and surrounding counties.

In the beginning, savings accounts were the only product available.

Now with 17 branches, more than 300 employees and more than 70,000 members, Launch Credit Union is able to help its members with a wide range of products and services, including online banking, credit and debit cards, ATMs, personal and business accounts and other services.

Launch Credit Union is a full-service, community credit union, rated "excellent" on Bauerfinancial.com, with 17 branches throughout Brevard and Volusia counties. Membership is open to all who live, work, worship or attend school in Brevard, Flagler, Orange, Osceola, Seminole and Volusia counties.

Under Colucci’s leadership, the union has increased its membership by nearly 30%.

“I’m honored to once again represent our outstanding teachers,” Colucci said. “I will continue to be a fierce advocate for them, and provide the stability and leadership this district needs as it deals with constant fighting amongst school board members, a politicized environment and a temporary superintendent.”

Matt Yount, former Brevard Public Schools Teacher of the Year, said: “President Colucci is an honest and well-spoken representative for the thousands of teachers in Brevard. His passion and drive are key factors in his successes as BFT president. I firmly believe that Brevard County Public Schools is a better place because of Mr. Colucci and his team at BFT. They have given teachers more of a voice and moved the needle in the right direction for a profession under attack.”
