Here are the top three stories in Queens today:

  1. A Queens business owner has been sentenced for tax evasion and employment tax crimes. According to statements made in court, Rocco Manzione withheld more than $1 million in taxes from his employees' wages, but spent the money on vacations, mortgages and other luxuries. Manzione also concealed a portion of his income by transferring funds in the name of a nominee corporation. The total tax loss according to the IRS was more than $2.8 million. (Department of Justice)

  2. One man was shot dead in a subway station after an argument, according to NYPD. The dispute took place at the Jamaica subway station at Parsons Boulevard and Archer Street. According to police, the two men knew each other and there is no threat to the general public. The shooting took place around 4:30 p.m. on Friday, and as of yesterday afternoon police are still looking for the suspect. (NBC New York)

  3. According to a new lawsuit filed by a dismissed employee, a COVID-19 vaccine site diluted doses. The employee alleges that the dilution was done systematically in order to administer more doses. The vaccination site facing the allegations is Centers Urgent Care, which operated vaccine distribution at Korean Community Services in Bayside. (New York Daily News)
