Dr. Rishi Patel, CEO of CAN Community Health, has been selected for membership in the Florida Council of 100.

Dr. Patel joined CAN Community Health, in Sarasota, as chief pharmacy officer in 2015 and has served as its president and CEO since January 2022.

Dr. Patel holds a Doctorate of Pharmacy from Nova Southeastern University, an MBA from Florida Gulf Coast University and a bachelor’s in microbiology from the University of Florida.

A statewide educational research not-for-profit, the Florida Council of 100 membership organization comprises the presidents and CEOs of some of Florida’s largest corporations and industries. It provides direction for policy research, represents the council before civic and community groups, and advises the governor, presiding officers of the Legislature and the chief justice of the Supreme Court on the Council’s policy research findings.

CAN Community Health is a not-for-profit, community-based organization that provides medical, pharmacy, dental, case management, mental health and comprehensive prevention services.

The Ringling Museum recently expanded its development team with the addition of three experienced philanthropy professionals.

Jeannie Hendrick Perales has joined The Ringling as associate director of development/campaign planning, where she will work with the development team and across the institution to design and implement a dynamic, comprehensive initiative to raise capital, programmatic and endowment funds.

She has had a distinguished career in nonprofit management, program development and donor engagement. A Sarasota native, she previously held positions as chief experience officer at the Bay Park Conservancy, vice president for museums exhibitions, learning & engagement at Marie Selby Botanical Gardens and associate curator of education at The Ringling.

Perales has a bachelor’s in communications and anthropology from Florida State University and a master’s in educational psychology from the University of Colorado.

Originally from Sarasota, Blair Kirkwood has returned home to serve as senior development officer for The Ringling after stints in New York City and Jacksonville. She is focused on acquiring corporate sponsors to broaden the support for The Ringling's Art of Performance, exhibitions, events and educational programs.

Kirkwood most recently served as director of development for Boys and Girls Clubs of Northeast Florida. She has additional experience in annual fund programs at Columbia University and Sarasota Memorial Healthcare Foundation.

She graduated from the University of South Florida with a bachelor’s in communications.

Emily Joslin has been appointed by The Ringling to serve as development officer/Circle Programs.

She cultivates and stewards a portfolio of The Ringling’s leadership gift donors and works with the events team to plan and expedite Circle exhibition previews, Circle dinners and Behind-the-Scenes events for donors and prospects.

In recent years, she has produced compelling content for TV, streaming and social media as the on-camera talent and producer for a media company she founded. Previously, she worked with the Robin Hood Foundation and founded Compass Kids in New York City.

Joslin has had a distinguished career in strategic marketing and communications.

She has an MBA from the University of Denver and a bachelor’s in English and art history from the University of Vermont.

The Venice Area Chamber of Commerce presented the “Empowering Woman of the Year” award to DMSI International CEO Jeneth D’Alonzo at the recent Women Empowering Women event.

D’Alonzo was chosen because of her humble beginning and how she embodies a woman of faith, hard work, perseverance and giving back to the community, locally and internationally.

D’Alonzo’s outstanding track record as CEO of DMSI International, managing two manufacturing locations with well over 100 employees, in Nokomis and the Philippines, makes her an inspiration to all women who want to make it in the business world.

Recently, she was named “International Person of the Year” by the Tampa Bay Organization of Women in International Trade.

D’Alonzo has been involved in serving the community for years in Sarasota County and the Philippines through DMSI Cares, the company’s philanthropic initiative.

DMSI manufactures fiber-optic connectivity products.

United States Awning, in Sarasota, has hired Eddy Choute as a full-time designer.

Choute, who started at the company in June as an intern, will support the sales and production teams by designing awnings and other shade structures using Solidworks, a computer-aided design system.

Choute is a graduate of Braden River High School. He is studying math at State College of Florida and is continuing his studies in computer-aided drafting and modeling at Manatee Technical College.

His past work experience has been in retail and health care. He became a certified Solidworks Associate in 2022.

Fawley Bryant Architecture has added four employees to its team: Senior Project Manager Christy M. Woods, Architect and Sports Project Manager Mackenzie Grouse, Architectural Staff Level I Tuba A. Ahmed and Administrative and Marketing Coordinator Stacey Marks.

Woods was previously a project supervisor at Benderson Development, where she managed projects through construction. Prior to that, Woods worked at Stofft Cooney Architects in Naples and Kobi Karp Architecture and Interior Design in Miami.

She is a certified general contractor and LEED AP, and earned a bachelor’s in architecture from the University of Miami.

Grouse developed an interest in the architecture of sports facilities during her time at OSPORTS in Tampa and Populous in Kansas City, Missouri.

She brings 10 years of experience in space planning, rendering and managing the designs of various projects. Grouse also served as a facilities architectural intern at Tesla.

She is a licensed architect with the National Council of Architectural Registration Boards and earned a bachelor’s and a master’s in architecture from the University of Cincinnati.

Ahmed joins the firm following her time as a project associate at Robert J. Stahl Architect in Eastchester, New York, where she managed documents, filed daily reports and ensured that activities for each project ran smoothly and were properly implemented.

Ahmed earned a Bachelor of Architecture from City College of New York – Bernard and Anne Spitzer School.

Marks brings 13 years of creative experience in cultivating long-lasting community relationships and marketing expertise to the firm.

She is a co-owner and instructor of Fly Dance Fitness, where she successfully expanded her dance center’s digital brand through online strategies that increased local awareness of her business.

Marks earned a bachelor’s in psychology from the University of South Florida and worked as a marketing specialist and director for CalmCo and On-Site Supply.
