Wallraff Electric, a New Brighton-based electrical contractor for commercial and residential construction, announced the hire of Gerry Severson as lead estimator/project manager for commercial.

DEVELOPMENT

Kraus-Anderson Cos. Inc., a multi-layered builder and financer of residential and commercial construction projects based in Minneapolis, announced the promotion of Brad Engelsma to corporate secretary and senior associate general counsel. Engelsma joined Kraus-Anderson’s legal team in 2016 and was named senior associate general counsel in 2021.

FINANCIAL SERVICES

Bell Bank, Fargo, N.D., announced that Meg Martin has joined the company’s wealth management division as a vice president/senior wealth and fiduciary adviser, based at the company’s Golden Valley offices. Martin previously worked as an estate planning attorney, and is a graduate of Mitchell Hamline College of Law in St. Paul.

GOVERNMENT

The City of Bloomington announced the hire of Holly Masek as port authority administrator. Masek previously was executive director for the Rochester Downtown Alliance. … The Minnesota Board of Medical Practice announced the appointment of Elizabeth A. Huntley as executive director. Huntley has served the board for 19 years, most recently as deputy director. She succeeds Ruth Martinez, who is retiring.

LAW

Maslon, Minneapolis, announced the election of the following board members: Partner Keiko Sugisaka re-elected board chair; Partner and Board Member David Suchar, vice chair; new to the board are partners Brian Klein and Julian Zebot; remaining partner board member is Susan Link.

MANUFACTURING

Sleep Number Corp., a Minneapolis-based maker and retailer of mattresses, announced that Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer David Callen is stepping down, effective Jan. 30, but will remain with the company in a financial advisory role through March 3; Executive Vice President and Chief Human Resources Officer Chris Krusmark will assume the role of interim chief financial officer.

MEDIA

The Pine Knot News newspaper in Cloquet, Minn., announced it was named the “most outstanding weekly” in the state at the annual convention of the Minnesota Newspaper Association. It is the third win in a row for the newspaper that was founded in 2018.

MEDICAL TECHNOLOGY

Francis Medical, a Maple Grove developer of a water vapor ablation therapy for the treatment of prostate, kidney, and bladder cancer, announced the appointment of Andrew Cleeland to its board of directors. Cleeland currently is CEO of Fogarty Innovation, a medical device company.

The Brainerd Lakes Area Community Foundation, in partnership with CommunityGiving, St. Cloud, announced that Terri Foster has been named executive director. The foundation attracts and administers charitable funds for the benefit of the Brainerd area. Foster has been with the organization since 2017. … Second Harvest Heartland, a community food bank based in Brooklyn Park, announced Zach Rodvold as its first director of government relations. Rodvold most recently served as chief of staff for U.S. Rep. Dean Phillips. D-Minn. … Animal Humane Society, Golden Valley, announced the appointment of board members, Brenda McCormick and Brian Woolsey. McCormick is senior vice president, chief financial officer at Twin Cities pediatric health system Children’s Minnesota; Woolsey is founder and principal of Monarch CRE, a commercial real estate firm. … The Minnesota Council of Nonprofits announced the following additions to its board of directors: Sam Amundson, Detroit Lakes; Amy Gray, Brainerd; Feather LaRoche, Minneapolis; Sara Sommarstrom, St. Paul; May yer Thao, St. Paul, and Xavier Vazquez, Minneapolis.

RETAIL

Shipt, a Birmingham, Ala.-based personal shopping and consumer-goods delivery service division of Target Corp., Minneapolis, announced the hire of former Target human resources executive Amy Benson as chief people and community officer. Benson will be based in Minneapolis; she also serves on the board of Breakthrough Twin Cities, an organization focused on closing the equity gap in education.
