BUSINESS PEOPLE: Franchise owner wins award for helping fellows

Julia Jones, owner of PuroClean of Bradenton, received PuroClean’s Rainmaker Award at the company’s International Convention, held in May at the Flamingo Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas.

Jones was nominated for this accolade by her fellow franchise owners as someone who has gone above and beyond to achieve success within the network while dedicating herself to the success of others and her community. She was selected from more than 375 franchise owners across North America and Canada.

She is known among her colleagues as the then-new franchise owner who traveled to Texas during the 2021 freeze and wasted no time jumping in to assist local franchise owners and those in need.

Jones launched her property restoration business in her home state of Florida in 2020. Her team has received among the highest levels of certification in the nation.

PuroClean restores properties damaged by floods, fires, mold and more, ensuring that customers can get back to normal with less stress, disruption and financial hardship.

Empath Health, of Sarasota and Clearwater, has filled two senior-level medical positions. Dr. Carol Li is chief mission medical administrative officer and Dr. Neville Sarkari is chief mission medical affairs officer.

Empath, a full life care provider serving Tampa Bay and Southwest Florida, provides care and support for more than 14,000 people a day with chronic and advanced illnesses and those dealing with grief.

Dr. Li provides direction, guidance and oversight to Empath Health’s medical staff at Suncoast Hospice, Suncoast Hospice of Hillsborough and Tidewell Hospice in Sarasota. Most recently she was Suncoast Hospice’s medical director.

Li received a Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine from Rowan University School of Osteopathic Medicine, in New Jersey, and is dually certified in hospice and palliative care following fellowship through the University of South Florida.

Dr. Sarkari is responsible for establishing a progressive vision and strategic direction, focusing on patient, family and client satisfaction, as well as creating quality, safety and patient experience for all Empath Health medical programs.

Most recently, he was executive vice president/chief medical officer of Tidewell Hospice, a member of Empath Health. Previously, he was senior vice president, Medical Services and senior vice president, Operations/Interim COO at Covenant Hospice, in Florida’s Panhandle.

He is a graduate of the University of Kentucky and University of Kentucky College of Medicine. He is board certified in hospice and palliative medicine and internal medicine.
