Icard Merrill Shareholder and President Telese L. Zuberer was a guest speaker at the Law Firm Alliance Spring 2022 Meeting in Sonoma, California.

She participated in a program called, “Insights on Culture Development and Talent Retention and Acquisition,” which focused on issues that member firms are facing as the nation emerges from the COVID pandemic.

Icard Merrill is a member of LFA, which is a strategic, international network of more than 50 firms and 2,500 attorneys.

G. Todd Yeomans and Yeomans Work Architecture, in Sarasota, has hired Emi Kopke as an architecture associate.

She will be contributing to a broad range of custom residential, commercial, cabinetry and furniture design projects.

Kopke is a recent graduate of the University of Miami, where she was on the Provost’s Honor Roll & Dean’s List and was awarded numerous prestigious scholarships for design and excellence.

In 2020, she started her own company, SEASUNed Toys, LLC, designing, prototyping and fabricating a modifiable indoor wooden climbing frame for children ages 6 months to 6 years.

With the retirement of Ann Logan, Aviva Senior Living has hired Jay Lockaby as its new chief development officer, effective May 31.

Lockaby has netted more than $400 million in his 25-year nonprofit career.

Most recently, he served as chief philanthropy officer and foundation executive director at South County Health in Wakefield, Rhode Island.

Before that, he was with Ghiorsi & Sorrenti in Wyckoff, New Jersey, a full-service philanthropic consulting firm, and the Cancer Support Community in Washington, D.C., formerly known as The Wellness Community, an international nonprofit dedicated to providing support, education and hope to those affected by cancer.

From 2003 to 2010, the graduate of Emory University in Atlanta and Bryn Mawr Graduate School of Social Work and Social Research was president and CEO of The Wellness Community of Southwest Florida, where he directed the nonprofit agency of 25 staff members and a large volunteer team.
