BUSINESS PEOPLE: New interim leader on Meals On Wheels of Sarasota board

Rhonda Leiberick has been appointed interim executive director of the Meals On Wheels of Sarasota board of directors.

During the transition, Leiberick is collaborating with consultants from Invest in Incredible, an initiative of Gulf Coast Community Foundation. The partnership will focus on a fresh look at organizational policies, developing strategies for growth and processes to magnify organizational impact.

Leiberick worked at Habitat for Humanity Sarasota for nine years, starting in a communications and public relations capacity. Her responsibilities grew into the position of program director.

She has earned her Accreditation in Public Relations and has received numerous communications awards. She is past president of the local chapter of the Florida Public Relations Association.

Leiberick holds a bachelor’s from Ringling College of Art and Design.

Susie Bowie, executive director of the Manatee Community Foundation, will become CEO of the William G. and Marie Selby Foundation’s board of directors on March 1, 2023. As previously announced, Carol Butera, the foundation’s current CEO, will retire in April 2023.

Bowie has served as executive director of the Manatee Community Foundation since April 2016. Her accomplishments include:

• Growing MCF assets and philanthropic funds to award increased grants and scholarships each year.

• Transforming the organizational culture to better serve the community through an intentional focus on access and inclusion.

• Increasing community leadership through regular nonprofit trainings, community education events, collaborations and initiatives.

• Developing essential partnerships with local community foundations and private foundations to leverage resources, knowledge and support for nonprofits.

• Collaborating with local partners to start a new Local College Access Network for Manatee County with the goal of 60% of adults achieving post-secondary attainment by 2030.

Prior to leading MCF, Bowie was vice president of Philanthropic Education and Marketing at the Community Foundation of Sarasota County, where she designed and led the first Giving Challenge events in this region.

She is a 1998 graduate of the University of Florida and holds certificates in Diversity, Equity and Inclusion in the Workplace and Nonprofit Management from the University of South Florida.

The Selby Foundation is a private foundation founded by William G. and Marie Selby in 1955. The foundation supports Sarasota, Manatee, Charlotte and DeSoto counties through capital grants and scholarships.
