Financier Warren R. Colbert Sr. has been elected as chair of the board of the John & Mable Ringling Museum of Art Foundation, Inc.

His term as chair runs until 2024. He has served on the Ringling board for four years.

Colbert is a senior vice president of wealth management at UBS Financial Services, Inc., located in New York City and headquartered in Zurich, Switzerland. His four decades of financial services experience includes tenures at PaineWebber, Inc. and Kidder, Peabody & Co.

Colbert has served three terms on the board of trustees of Lincoln University, Pennsylvania, his alma mater. His graduate studies were at the University of Maryland.

Colbert is the first African American to chair the Ringling Museum of Art Foundation Board.

Under the care of current director Steven High, the museum’s collections have increased in all genres, with a particular increase in the contemporary arts. Colbert’s vision is to harness the worldwide contemporary arts explosion and create the momentum to build or extend a wing to house works by diverse contemporary artists who have experienced recognition in recent years by the best art institutions worldwide.

Ramin Hashemi is the new chair for SCORE Manasota, effective Oct. 1. He will be responsible for the overall governance of the chapter, committee structures and operations.

Hashemi has an extensive background in leadership and has made key contributions to the chapter.

SCORE Manasota has a great legacy of community contribution and support, driven by the members and committees.

Doug Janson and Nabil Freij have served as co-chairs for the past two years. They will remain as Executive Committee members, supporting Hashemi and the chapter.

Visit Sarasota County has promoted two team members to fill key sales and marketing positions. Shantel Norman has been named group sales manager and Jessica Bertolini is now digital marketing manager.

Norman is responsible for selling the destination to meeting planners and group leisure markets. She has worked for VSC since 2013, previously holding the position of executive assistant. In her spare time, Norman performs with her reggae band, Jah Movement.

As digital marketing manager, Bertolini oversees Visit Sarasota’s website, https://www.visitsarasota.com, social media channels and various digital platforms.  She develops content strategies to promote the destination’s wide array of offerings and events.

Bertolini has worked for VSC since 2021, previously as website and social media coordinator.
