Business roundup: Demolitions planned in Ross and Pike counties, Dollar Store coming to Bourneville

CHILLICOTHE ― The Ross County Building Department received more than 50 permit requests in the month of August, ranging from demolishing buildings to creating new ones

Each apartment will be one-bedroom with common amenities like a laundry room, lounges and private outdoor space for residents. There are also office and conference rooms that will be utilized to deliver support. On-site mental health services and 24/7 staffing will be provided by Integrated Services and their partner, the Scioto Paint Valley Mental Health Center.

The McArthur School building on Columbus Street in Chillicothe received a permit for a $120,000 project. The project will demolish the school building that closed in 2004. Integrated Services for Behavioral Health along with The Model Group of Cincinnati will be using the land to build a 32 supportive housing units for the chronically homeless. Each unit will be a one-room apartment with common amenities and a private outdoor space. The units are anticipated to be available at the end of 2023.

In Pike County, the Pike County Land Reutilization Corporation also received a permit to demolish a building on U.S. 23 in Waverly. Gary Arnett, Development Director of Pike County, said the land bank currently has around 12 buildings they are looking at getting demolished but the paperwork for all of them has not been finalized. Many of these buildings are already falling down and demolishing them will help beautify the area.

OhioHealth and NovaCare will be building out a physical therapy clinic to the OhioHealth location on Zane Plaza in Chillicothe. This partnership offers experienced providers to patients as they work towards getting back to doing the activities they enjoy.

Other projects include a Dollar General store being built in Bourneville, handicap renovations to restrooms at Butt Realty in Chillicothe, redoing roofing on two shelters in Yoctangee Park, sign changes to the Taco Bell on East Main Street and replacement and removal of antennas at the Verizon store in Waverly.
