Accounting firms merge to form new CPA and advisory company

In a move that will capitalize on the strengths of both organizations and expand their ability to serve their clients, Lovelady, Christy + Associates, PLLC (LCA) and Terra Accounting and Consulting, PLLC have merged to form LPT CPAs + Advisors, PLLC (Lovelady Pruiett Terra).

According to a news release, the merger brings together an established accounting firm led by Samuel B. Lovelady and Terry Pruiett with Johnny Terra, who has been recognized as a young leader in accounting and consulting in the area.

Terra Accounting and Consulting received the 2021 Top Emerging Business award from the Amarillo Chamber of Commerce. Terra Accounting was also recognized in the Amarillo Globe News' Best of Amarillo Awards as the Best Accounting Firm and the Best Tax Preparation Firm in 2021 and 2020, with Johnny receiving the Best Accountant recognition both years as well.

“I’ve been dedicated to finding partners who’d be good for our clients and our staff,” Lovelady said in the release. “Adding Terra’s energy and expertise to Pruiett’s vast knowledge of tax laws made good business sense.”

LPT will offer a full range of accounting and tax preparation services, as well as financial planning and consulting to ensure clients are on strong financial footing as they work to strengthen and expand their businesses.

Lovelady will continue to work with Pruiett, Terra and the rest of the LPT team as they offer new services to their clients. He said there will be no disruption of service and the firm’s clients will benefit from the merger.
