In business: Sherburne County Jail earns national accreditation for health care

Sherburne County Jail has been accredited by the National Commission on Correctional Health Care.

"Accreditation recognizes the jail’s dedication to compliance with the most respected standards of correctional care," according to a press release from the sheriff's office.

The accreditation comes after experts in correctional health care and a physician survey the facility in regards to its safety standards, personnel and training, health care services and support, patient care and treatment, health promotion, special needs and services, health records and legal issues, according to Sheriff Joel Brott. Input from national experts in correctional health care provide input on accreditation standards.
