In Business: St. Cloud Area Chamber of Commerce names new director of marketing

Emily Bertram has moved into the role of director of marketing and communications for the St. Cloud Area Chamber of Commerce.

Bertram was the marketing manager for Visit Greater St. Cloud for six years before moving into this new role. During her time there, she won a Midwest Travel Network award for the best social media destination campaign.

As director of marketing and communications for the chamber, she will manage its advertising and marketing programs, including social media, all written communications and its Business Central Magazine.

SCSU earns training grants to use with Grede Casting and SCR

St. Cloud State University received $550,000 in Minnesota Department of Employment and Economic Development training grants to partner with local companies in strengthening workforce knowledge and skills.

SCSU received a $300,000 Minnesota Job Skills Partnership grant in partnership with Grede Casting and a $250,000 Minnesota Job Skills Partnership grant in partnership with SCR (formerly St. Cloud Refrigeration). The grants are intended for customized training to help companies maintain a competitive edge and meet future demands, SCSU said in a press release.

St. Cloud Technical and Community College, Ridgewater Community College and Hennepin Technical College will also be involved in delivering the customized training.

6 members join Central Minnesota Community Foundation board of directors

The Central Minnesota Community Foundation has four new members on its board of directors and two new emerging leader board members.

Hudda Ibrahim, Cathy Juilfs, Julie Lunning and Todd Zaun all began their three-year terms in July. Ibrahim is founder and president of Filsan Talent Partners; Juilfs is president of AIS Planning; Lunning is president of the St. Cloud Area Chamber of Commerce; and Zaun is president and CEO of Farmers & Merchants State Bank of Pierz.

The emerging leader board members are Antionette Lee and Tajudeen Popoola. These are one-year roles new to the board of directors and will allow those members to "participate in the community leadership and philanthropic efforts of the foundation" through first-hand experience on a nonprofit board, the CMCF said in a press release.

Antionette Lee is president and founder of No Limit Painting. Popoola is a case aide connector for the Stearns County Department of Human Services.

CMCF attracts and administers charitable funds for the benefit of Central Minnesota's local communities.

Attorneys recognized for achievements in legal practice

Five attorneys with St. Cloud law firm Rajkowski Hansmeier Ltd. were listed as 2022 Minnesota Super Lawyers by a lawyer rating service.

Those recognized were:

  • Kevin Gray

  • Gordon Hansmeier

  • Troy Poetz

  • Paul Rajkowski

  • Chad Roggeman

The distinction is awarded to the top 5% of lawyers in the state, who have distinguished themselves through their legal practice, according to a press release from Rajkowski Hansmeier Ltd.

Eric Oelrich was named a Minnesota Rising Star, a recognition which about 2.5% of lawyers in the state achieve.
