Here’s a roundup of the latest retail, business and restaurant activity in and around Whatcom County:

New unique restaurant plans to open

A new restaurant, Pie Dive Bar is planning to open a new location in Bellingham after the restaurant filed a city permit on June 9 that was approved on Aug. 30 at 15 Prospect St.

The bar already has one location in Snohomish, according to Everett Herald, and serves a variety of pot pies and dessert pies.

New coffee shop planned for Bellis Fair Mall

A new coffee shop may be coming to Bellis Fair Mall, as a city of Bellingham permit was filed for Tinto Coffee at Suite 3215 at Bellis Fair Mall’s address. The permit was filed for a new sign on Sept. 11 and was approved Sept. 12.

New Chipotle location plans to open

Chipotle may be opening a new Bellingham location at 104 Samish Way, a former Pizza Hut location. A city building permit was filed for a new restaurant costing approximately $697,153. The permit was filed Sept. 13, but has not been approved yet.

New ice cream shop plans to take over downtown spot

A new ice cream shop, Love From London, has filed a city building permit to occupy 1301 Commercial St. in Bellingham, the previous location of JoJo’s Doughnuts. The permit was applied for on Sept. 14 and has not been approved yet.

Luna’s Bistro now offering all day, every day happy hour

Luna’s Bistro is now offering visitors discounted drinks and food at happy hour prices all day and every day, according to an email from its owner, Jesse Cantu.

The restaurant was recently listed for sale in July. The happy hour menu includes $5 well drinks, $1 off taps, and foods like tacos, wings, sliders, garlic fries and rosemary focaccia from $2 to $10.

Luna’s Bistro is open from 11:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday, Tuesday and Wednesday and from 11:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. Thursday through Saturday at 3004 Cinema Place in Bellingham.

“Camptoberfest” fundraiser for local camp

Camp Fire Samish, a Bellingham-founded youth camp organization, is hosting its annual Camptoberfest fundraiser event for its well-loved, 100 year old Camp Kirby in Bow. The event will include a traditional German style dinner of brats, sides, beer and cider. Visitors can enjoy Camp Kirby’s beach, outdoor games and enter raffles for prizes. There is a suggested $20 donation, and all proceeds go to improving the camp.

The event takes place from 6-8 p.m. Friday, Sept. 29, at Camp Kirby, at 4734 Samish Point Road in Bow.
