The Manufacturers Resource Center will host a webinar, "Economic Outlook: Raising Rates, Taming Inflation, and Battling Bear Markets," from 10:30 a.m. to 12 p.m., virtually via Zoom. In this webinar, presented by Banyan Partners/Alex. Brown, the forces that are affecting the world economy, domestic economy, and the financial markets will be covered. Among the issues discussed will be interest rates, inflation, energy, geopolitical risks, employment, and corresponding implications of the election outcomes. The Berks Regional Chapter of the association of Fundraising Professionals will host a "National Philanthropy Day Breakfast, Awards and Conversation with Edgar Villanueva" starting at 7:30 a.m. at the DoubleTree Hotel in Reading. The annual breakfast honors individuals, organizations, and businesses for their philanthropic achievements in Berks County. Immediately following the awards breakfast, AFP Berks will host a conversation with Villanueva, founder and principal of the Decolonizing Wealth Project and Liberated Capital from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. Villanueva is an author, activist, and expert on issues of race, wealth, and philanthropy. The Greater Reading Chamber Alliance (GRCA) will host the "2022 Wells Fargo Economic Forecast Breakfast," from 7:30 to 8:30 a.m., at the Santander Performing Arts Center, third floor ballroom, 136 N. 6th St, Reading. Keynote speaker Jay H. Bryson, Ph.D., managing director and chief economist for Wells Fargo's corporate and investment bank, will present "The U.S. Economic Outlook in Uncertain Times," which will cover how the U.S. economy will respond to the highest inflation in 40 years in addition to geopolitical uncertainty.
