Businesses close early as rivals Newman and Gustine meet on the football field for the 75th time

With a population of almost 12,000, Newman is located about 103 miles south of Sacramento. Along with its small-town charm, comes the full support of their big-time high school football team, the Orestimba Warriors. Just 4.1-miles away — and with a population of just under 6,000 — is Gustine, another small town that just so happens to be the site of the first 911 system in California. On Friday night, Gustine and Orestimba met for the 75th time on the football field, continuing one of the longest high school football rivalries West of the Mississippi. See more in the video above.
