Land and its many uses, it seems, is where the money is in Southwest Florida.
Collier County saw the top-10 property taxpayers list for 2022 populated primarily by developers or mall owners.
Developer HHR Naples, popular north Naples shopping center The Mercato, and The Moorings, which owns three-campus senior living facilities Moorings Park, all took top spots in the county in terms of property taxes paid last year.
Luxury apartments owner PRCP Florida Naples Edge75 also made the list, along with the Continental 422 Fund, an organization tied to Wisconsin-based national real estate developer Continental Properties Group, LLC .
The Naples Beach Club Land Trust and The Naples Beach Club Land Trust 1, which together own the hotel and conservation easement of the same name, both appeared on the list in the third and sixth slots, totaling close to $3 million in taxes paid.
In total, the 10 businesses to pay the most in property taxes totaled roughly $13 million, just less than 1% of the property taxes levied across the county in full.
