In the groundbreaking Broadway musical “Carousel,” lyricist Oscar Hammerstein II wrote the song: “June is Bustin’ Out All Over.”

The Bartlesville Doenges Ford Indians baseball team has added a tweak to the idea. They have been busting out all over June.

The Indians are 13–6-1 during the month, including blitzing unbeaten (5-0) through the Branson (Mo.) tourney and tallying a winning record (3-2-1) in the new Oklahoma College League.

Combined with a 3-2 mark in May, the Indians own a 16-8-1 mark overall.

Their next major test will be the annual Glen Winget Memorial July Fourth Tournament at Bill Doenges Memorial Stadium/Rigdon Field.

Play is planned for next weekend.

The nine teams in the field include the Indians, Springfield (Mo.) Hillcrest, Springfield (Mo.) Kickappo, the Three Rivers Bandits, the Oklahoma Mud Cats, Mountain Home (Ark.) Lockerrom, the Fort Smith (Ark.) Sportsman, Bryan (Ark.) and Southern Elevation.

The Doenges Boys will be focused on capturing a Winget time for just the fifth time since 1998.

The Indians have been piecing together a versatile, powerful offensive attack with more sting than a 10-headed cobra.

Indian veteran Daniel Barham is hitting  .366 (15-for-41) in the Indians’ wins, and only .125 in nine losses.

Harrison Clark’s bat is even a greater barometer of Indians’ success.

He has blistered the ball for a .385 average (15-for-39) in Indian victories and .160 in losses (4-for-25).

Luke Fox surged to 17-for-17 in stolen bases prior to finally being caught stealing earlier this week. Fox has contributed at least one hit in 13 of the 19 games he’s played.

Brenden Asher has driven in nine runs in Indian wins, one run in a tie and no runs in losses.

In games in which Karson Lee has hammered one of his 11 extra-base hits, the Indians are 8-0.

When Evan McClendon strokes two-or-more-hits, the Indians are 5-1. McClendon has driven home a run in each of the last three games.

Kaeden Young has delivered at least one hit in nine of his last 12 games.

Young also has been a run-scoring machine. He has crossed home plate in 15 of the 20 games he’s played, for a total of 24 runs scored. The Indians are 12–2-1 when Young scores.
