Butler Community College President retiring

EL DORADO, Kan. (KSNW) — Butler Community College President Kim Krull has announced her retirement.

Krull will finish out her contract, which ends on June 30, and will serve the college in a month-to-month capacity until her successor is chosen and a transition plan is finalized. She is the fifth president in the school’s history.

“It has been the privilege of my career to serve as Butler’s president. I owe a huge thank you to Trustees Ted Dankert, Ted Albright, Ron Engelbrecht, Dr. Greg Joyce, Jim Howell, Candace Kunkel, Tom McKibban, Sara Hurd, and Jim Wilson for trusting in me in 2013,” says Krull in a news release from Butler. “I am hopeful your next president will understand they are standing on the shoulders of nearly 100 years of visionary leaders who have led Butler and who, most importantly, have changed students’ lives.”

Tears shed at USD 259 proposed school closures meeting

The college outlines some of Krull’s accomplishments during her tenure. They include overseeing the $3.3 million renovation of the Student Union on the El Dorado campus, the improvements to the Andover campus on the high school grounds, and the opening of the $6.2 million Redler Institute of Culinary Arts on Kellogg in Andover.

“I am grateful to Dr. Krull for her leadership and passion for serving our students. Her body of work stands as a testament to her belief in the college and to those who work tirelessly to fulfill its mission,” says Board of Trustees Chair Linda Jolly. “The Board of Trustees is actively organizing to launch our executive search within the coming weeks.”
