Butler County Auditor Roger Reynolds' corruption trial has been rescheduled to begin after the November election.

Reynolds is facing six corruption charges after a new indictment was filed in July. There are three felony charges and three misdemeanor charges.

He has pleaded not guilty to all of the charges which include one count of bribery, three counts of unlawful interest in a public contract, one count of unlawful use of authority and one count of conflict of interest.

"We again ask that the community not rush to judgment in this matter, and we look forward to proving Mr. Reynolds' innocence at the upcoming trial," Reynolds' attorney Chad Ziepfel said in a statement to The Enquirer after the new indictment was filed in July.

The trial was originally scheduled to begin on Monday. It will now start on Dec. 12.

The prosecution requested that the trial be moved to Oct. 31 or after because prosecuting attorney Brad Tammaro was involved in a different trial in Lucas County. Tammaro said in a court document that the additional time will also allow the state to prepare for the additional charge from the indictment filed in July.

Reynolds has served as auditor for over a decade and is running for reelection this November. He ran unopposed in the Republican primary in May. He will face Democratic candidate and Oxford Township resident Mike Dalesandro on Nov. 8.

Reynolds could face seven years and six months in prison if he's found guilty of all six charges, according to Butler County Sheriff Richard Jones.
