You can buy alcohol at Kentucky football games in 2023. See what’s being sold, and where.

A new era for Kentucky athletics — and specifically the experience for UK fans at home events — is already underway.

During his annual summer press conference with reporters, Kentucky Athletics Director Mitch Barnhart made the long-awaited announcement that beer and seltzer drinks would be sold at all UK athletics events.

This followed a successful spring implementation of beer and seltzer sales at Kentucky Proud Park for UK baseball games and John Cropp Stadium for UK softball games.

Already in the 2023-24 UK Athletics season, several home events for the men’s and women’s soccer teams have been held at the Wendell and Vickie Bell Soccer Complex with beer and seltzer products available for purchase.

But large-scale implementation of alcohol sales at a UK sports event hasn’t happened yet.

It will on Saturday, when Kentucky football opens its 2023 season at Kroger Field against Ball State.

For the first time, all fans inside Kroger Field will have the chance to purchase alcohol before and during a UK football game.

Here’s what you need to know about alcohol sales at Kroger Field, from the products offered to where you can find them.

What alcohol products will be sold?

According to an alcohol beverage map for Kroger Field for the 2023 season, several different beer and seltzer products will be available to fans.

Bud Light, Bud Light Seltzer, Michelob Ultra, Yuengling Lager and Yuengling Flight will be domestic options available for purchase.

In the craft beer category, Stella Artois, Big Kahuna and Neon Big Hug are listed as options for sale, according to the map.

Additionally, several local beer options will be available.

These include Cougar Bait — made by Central Kentucky’s own Country Boy Brewing — as well as Kentucky Tangerine Cream Ale and Kentucky Vanilla Barrel Cream Ale, both of which are made by Lexington Brewing and Distilling Company.

The Kentucky Tangerine Cream Ale will only be available in September for home games against Ball State, Eastern Kentucky, Akron and Florida.

The Kentucky Vanilla Barrel Cream Ale will only be available in October and November for home games against Missouri, Tennessee and Alabama.

Where will alcohol products be sold at Kroger Field?

There will be a variety of locations where alcoholic beverages will be sold inside Kroger Field for the 2023 UK football season.

Here’s a list of where you can find alcohol in Kroger Field, sorted by section number.

Section 2/3: In between Sections 2 and 3, Bud Light and Michelob Ultra will be sold.

Section 4: Bud Light, Bud Light Seltzer, Michelob Ultra and Yuengling Lager.

Section 5: Bud Light, Bud Light Seltzer, Michelob Ultra and Yuengling Lager. A beer kiosk is available in Section 5.

Section 6: Bud Light, Bud Light Seltzer, Michelob Ultra and Yuengling Lager. There are two locations in Section 6 where alcohol will be sold.

Section 7: Bud Light, Bud Light Seltzer, Michelob Ultra and Yuengling Lager. There are two locations in Section 7 where these beverages will be sold. A beer kiosk is available in Section 7.

Section 8: Bud Light and Michelob Ultra.

Section 9: Bud Light, Michelob Ultra, Yuengling Lager and Yuengling Flight. Draft beer is available in Section 9.

Section 14: Bud Light and Michelob Ultra.

Section 16: Bud Light. Michelob Ultra, Yuengling Lager, Yuengling Flight, Cougar Bait, Kentucky Tangerine Cream Ale (when available) and Kentucky Vanilla Barrel Cream Ale (when available) will be sold. How much alcohol can I purchase in one trip?

Per UK, alcohol sales at Kroger Field this season will be limited to two per person, per transaction.

Identification checks will also occur at each transaction.

When will alcohol sales end each game?

Alcohol sales will stop at the end of the third quarter of UK football home games.

Who is overseeing alcohol sales at UK sports events?

Kentucky’s concessions partner, Aramark, is managing the sales of beer and seltzer products at UK sports venues, as well as at venues across the country.

How much will alcohol cost at Kroger Field?

While a complete pricing list hasn’t been revealed yet for the beer and seltzer products being sold at Kroger Field, we already know how much some alcohol products cost at other UK venues.

At the Bell Soccer Complex, a 16 oz. Bud Light is sold for $9, a 12 oz. Bud Light Seltzer for $9 and a 16 oz. Michelob Ultra for $10.
