BWI-Marshall to fuel planes with cooking oil

BWI-Thurgood Marshall Airport will soon begin transforming cooking oil into sustainable jet fuel. You may have heard about cars running on cooking oil, but some of America's biggest air carriers are putting it to use for their aircraft. BWI is now the seventh airport nationwide to take part in this sustainability initiative. The oil used for planes will come from the 60 restaurants inside the airport. BWI officials said the process will not only prevent the grease from going into landfills, but also save money on expenses, and eliminate harmful spills.
