Bye bye 2023. How to ring in the new year in South Jersey

On the night before the calendars turn the page on the previous year, you'll want to have plans.

So, where can you celebrate the arrival of 2024 in South Jersey?

We've rounded up a few options.

Family friendly events for New Years Eve

Having kids can be hard on New Years Eve, with kids — and parents — struggling to stay awake until midnight. Fear not, there are some events happening way before the ball drops so your kids can get in on the party atmosphere.

Fireworks on the Beach, Sea Isle City

Sea Isle City is hosting Fireworks on the Beach. There will be a fireworks show at 8 pm, so bring your chairs, blankets and snacks as you celebrate the end of 2023. The fireworks will be best seen on JFK BLVD. Beach.

Downtown Hammonton New Year's Eve Bash 2023

For those looking to be up a little later, Hammonton is hosting their Downtown Hammonton New Year’s Eve Bash 2023. There will be food, drinks and shops to explore and enjoy until the Giant Blueberry Drop along with fireworks at midnight. The event will take place by town hall at 100 Central Ave, Downtown Hammonton.

First Night in Ocean City

Ocean City is hosting their First Night OCNJ. Starting at 4 p.m. with over 20 different venues participating, Ocean City is a good spot to take the kids with a host of events, such as the World-Famous Harlem Wizards putting on a high-flying show, karaoke and other activities. The best spot would be to start at the civic center with Jitney buses starting at 5 pm.

There will be food, a cash bar and people will have a chance to fire a gun salute. Tickets are $10 and all proceeds will go to restoration on the battleship. Battleship New Jersey is located at 100 Clinton Street, Camden.
