The annual Byesville Firemen's Festival returns to the village park this weekend.

The event, which serves an annual fundraiser for the Byesville Volunteer Fire Department, kicks off at 5 p.m. Friday., with the opening ceremony and crowning of the festival's king and queen and prince and princess.

The parade lineup will begin at 5:30 p.m. at Famous Supply and Caldwell Redi Mix. The parade starts at 6:30 p.m., and will proceed down Main Street to First Street.

Local musician Tracey Blaine will take the stage at 5:45 p.m. and at 6:45p.m. Adam Calvert will also perform at 8 p.m. Friday and former American Idol contestant Bucky Covington will take the stage at 8 p.m. Saturday.

Saturday's activities will include a variety of family events beginning with the car show at 10 a.m. Registration for the car show begins at 9 a.m., and the fee is $15.

Live entertainment will include musicians Levi Jameson, Sam Eplin and Kearstin Clark. New to the event this year is bingo, which will be held at 1 and 3 p.m.

Tractor/pedal pull for the children begins at 3 p.m. Registration will begin at 2:30 p.m. and the fee is $5.

The festival will also feature eight to 10 craft vendors, fire prevention kits, smoke detector giveaways, food trucks, a 50/50 raffle, mini golf course and a dunk tank.

A two-day, $10 wrist band allows unlimited use of the bounce house and mini golf.

The festival will conclude Saturday with fireworks at 10 p.m.

All proceeds will go toward the purchase or new radios and pagers for the department, according to Byesville Fire Chief Tim Haren, who added they are still looking for sponsors for the festival.
