Apr. 5—MIDLAND — Bynum School recently celebrated Dr. Seuss' birthday with a family literacy night.

"Celebrating Dr. Seuss' birthday with activities, games, and reading is always a highlight for me," said Bynum School Executive Director Keri St. John. "His books are timeless, and it is fun to see the younger generation as excited about his books as the older generation."

Before the event, Katie Wilson, event organizer and reading specialist, and Jesma Morris, visual arts instructor, decorated the student activity center walls with literacy-themed posters. Students and families participated in Dr. Seuss-themed activities, such as "Mr. Brown Can Moo Can You" ring toss, "Hop on Pop" hopscotch, and "Ten Apples on Top" stacking.

Additionally, families were invited to take pictures in the photo booth, and all students received Dr. Seuss books.
