Byrne Dairy's Irish Mint Milk hits shelves in Rochester. Where to get it before they're gone

You've tried McDonald's Shamrock Shake or some adult version of a minty-themed alcoholic drink in honor of St. Patrick's Day. But how about some mint-flavored milk?

Each winter since 1976, Byrne Dairy has sold Irish Mint Milk in celebration of St. Patrick's Day. The mint-flavored milk is sold in half-gallon glass bottles at area Byrne Dairy stores starting in late February through St. Patrick's Day, according to the company.

The Syracuse-based company described the milk as "so popular it’s hard to keep on the shelves.”  Byrne Dairy sells approximately 14,000 gallons of Irish Mint Milk each year during the weeks around the St. Patrick's Day season.

The half-gallon bottle cost $3.89 in Byrne Dairy's East Rochester store, plus $1 to cover the glass bottle deposit, for $4.89 for the full purchase.
