Bystanders lift 1,000-pound object to free pinned man in Centerville

A man was flown to the hospital after a 1,000-pound object landed on him in Centerville.

Witnesses told first responders a large crated object fell while being removed from a delivery truck, pinning the 68-year-old man underneath it, the Centerville-Osterville-Marstons Mills Fire Department said.

Bystanders lifted the object enough to free the man, who was being tended to when first responders arrived.

The man was treated at the scene and taken to Cape Cod Airfield in Marstons Mills. He was then flown by helicopter to Rhode Island Hospital .

A second person sustained non-life-threatening injuries, the C-O-MM Fire Department said.
