C.J. Stroud's mom says QB received death threats for Ohio State football loss to Michigan
C.J Stroud is looking ahead to what's next for Ohio State football against Georgia in the College Football Playoff semifinal at the Peach Bowl.
But when asked about his second loss to Michigan as the Buckeyes' starting quarterback, Stroud said there were moments where he couldn't help but see fan reactions toward the performance.
"I don't really look, but people have the, I'll say, audacity to call me and tell me what people say," Stroud said at Ohio State's Peach Bowl media day. "So I do hear it. It is what it is. It comes with the nature of the beast. You can't accept the good and not accept the bad."

Despite Stroud's 349-yard and two-touchdown performance against Michigan to end Ohio State's regular season, Stroud's mother Kimberly told Sports Illustrated's Ross Dellenger her son received death threats after the Buckeyes' 45-23 loss to the Wolverines.
Stroud said that watching the tape from the Michigan game and every other game he's played it is clear he tries to do everything he can to win games.
"If that means I didn't get it done, it is what it is," Stroud said. "Everybody is entitled to their own opinion. I'm blessed to be where I'm at. I'm going to keep moving forward and learn from it.
"And I really thank God for having a second chance this game. I think we deserve to be here regardless of what happened that day, but we moved on. Our focus is on Georgia now. I'm just taking it as a lesson and trying to learn from it."
Stroud finished the 2022 regular season with 3,340 passing yards, 37 touchdowns and six interceptions, completing 66.2 of his 355 pass attempts.
Stroud is projected to be a high first-round selection in the 2023 NFL draft in April after being a Heisman Trophy finalist for the second-straight season and finishing third in 2022 behind TCU quarterback Max Duggan and USC quarterback and Heisman winner Caleb Williams.
