C.J. Uzomah: New York Jets QB Zach Wilson will take Joe Burrow-like leap
C.J. Uzomah is entering his first season with the New York Jets after playing his first seven NFL seasons for the Cincinnati Bengals - including the past two with star quarterback Joe Burrow.
Uzomah, who signed a three-year deal with the Jets in March, told reporters Thursday that he's confident Jets quarterback Zach Wilson will take a Burrow-like leap, adding that Wilson "has a helluva arm."
In his first NFL season, Wilson completed 55.6 percent of his passes for 2,334 yards with nine touchdowns and 11 interceptions in 13 games.
Earlier this week, Uzomah arrived at training camp wearing a "Time: Person of the Year" T-shirt with Wilson's photo on it. Earlier this month, a screenshot of an Instagram comment believed to be made by Wilson's ex-girlfriend accused Wilson of cheating on her with his mother's best friend.

Zach Wilson had a rookie season to forget.
In 13 starts last season, he posted a Total QBR of 28, the 2nd-worst in the NFL, ahead of only Justin Fields (26).

Uzomah told reporters "Why not us?" when insisting before the 2021 season that Cincinnati could win Super Bowl 56.
After Burrow threw a first-quarter touchdown pass to Uzomah during the Bengals' playoff win against the Las Vegas Raiders, Uzomah celebrated with an "Ickey Shuffle" - a tribute to Bengals' Ruler of the Jungle and former running back Ickey Woods - in addition to the "Griddy," made popular by teammate Ja'Marr Chase.
