Anyone who loves the idea of a good time on their home turf has been on the lookout for the much anticipated sights and sounds of Cabana Resort’s construction to begin, and now it is happening. While everything that makes Cabana Resort exceptional has added a higher degree of complexity to its planning and approval phases, and renovation began in early October on the section of the Cabana development that includes Bonita Village Resort. During the twelve-week project, its existing buildings, pools and outdoor living areas will be resurfaced and painted to compliment and incorporate Cabana’s contemporary architecture. It is on track to be completed before the end of 2021, in time for Bonita Village’s full seasonal occupancy. Such on-site activity has increased interest in the entire 25-acre development and sales of the 110-unit condominium have spiked to 70%. Pre-construction pricing for a well appointed, luxury residence starts in the $600,000’s and includes site-wide access to all of Cabana’s fun and engaging resort amenities.

Nothing like Cabana Resort has been built in Southwest Florida until now. Its ambitious concept embraces family oriented amenities, activities and entertainment within a private, resort level condominium community that is also designed to attract and engage locals, seasonal visitors and vacationers alike within its open access parks, attractions, and the Grand Food Hall’s shops, restaurants, lounge and relaxation areas. When complete, Cabana will be the party and everyone is invited.

Entertainment and attractions will distinguish Cabana as a year round destination for the day, a weekend or vacation getaway. It will encompass seven-acres of water features within a huge and meandering Lazy River. It will offer sun and shade decks, a ‘surfable’ triple Flow Rider, waterfall, multiple water play, lounge and relaxation areas, and a separate children’s pool and play area. A koi pond will define the Waterpark and Grand Food Hall’s east entrance and a butterfly garden and neighborhood park are to the west at Vanderbilt Drive. Cabana’s other resort pools offer different leisure experiences. The Quiet Pool and Spas present a serene setting and peaceful ambience while the Oasis Pool features a tropical island-style waterfall, spa, toss games and plenty of poolside lounges. The Groggy Frog Tiki Hut is a private community amenity and social center for morning coffee, Happy Hour, bingo, trivia matches and occasional live music.

Cabana’s Grand Food Hall will extend along its wide Bonita Beach Road frontage. The open and airy structure will be sheathed in glass for endless 360 degree, see-through views of the Resort and its surroundings. The Hall’s center section will feature a garden space. Climate control systems will be in place the entire length of the Hall to guarantee that it can become a year round asset to the people of Bonita Springs. The versatility of some of its structural components will allow it to effectively shape shift and be reconfigured as needed.

The Grand Food Hall is designed to become an all access community hub for easy strolling, casual to fine dining, shopping, sampling and socializing over brews, occasional art installations, seasonal selections and Bonita-centric sights. Along with Cabana Resort’s parks and lawns, the Hall will showcase select micro-brewers, live music, exotic and exceptional foods and occasionally artful sundries, to name a few, and always with a Cabana commitment to quality and originality. Private and open-to-the-public affairs, special events and celebrations will be featured all year long, as will a range of dining possibilities and assorted refreshment concessions. Relax, engage and become a part of the sunny lifestyle that distinguishes Southwest Florida an oasis of year round good living.

The Resort aspect of Cabana’s development is equally well defined. The 110-unit building introduces new-look, contemporary architecture to the area. Superior concrete block construction is used throughout and sound abatement membranes are installed between reinforced concrete floors. Impact glass window and slider doors are standard, and the Lanais are engineered to be extra deep to create outdoor living areas and encourage an indoor-outdoor style of living. The residences have higher ceilings, eight-foot tall, solid core interior doors with porcelain tile flooring is installed throughout. Quartz countertops, solid wood cabinetry with 42-inch upper cabinets, Kohler fixtures and GE stainless steel appliances are standard Kitchen appointments. Baths feature separate commode rooms and the full-height frameless shower enclosures are tiled floor to ceiling and include oversized shower heads. All units feature convenient half-baths, and main and lock-off suites have separate, high efficiency air conditioning systems.

Cabana’s various floorplans offer two and three Bedroom residences ranging from 1,493 to 2,225 square feet under air. The building is oriented to east and west views, with north and south facing end units. The Roof Deck will be finished as an owners-only, private amenity with uninterrupted Gulf of Mexico views and a separate pavilion for special events. A fitness center, covered parking, bicycle and golf cart storage are included and charging stations are available. Cabana is pet friendly and a Dog Park is in the planning stages.

Cabana Resort’s Discovery Center is located at 27901 Bonita Village Boulevard, Bonita Springs, FL 34134. Staff are available for on-site presentations weekdays, 10 - 5, or by appointment, at 239-595-4049. Cabana Resort is represented by JRW Developer Resources, a division of John R. Wood Properties.
