Caddo Commissioner Steven Jackson's restraining order has been dissolved

This article has been updated with a clarifying statement.

The temporary restraining order filed against Caddo Commissioner Steven Jackson has been dissolved.

On Feb. 1, Jackson's attorney Courtney Harris with Harris Law Firm, LLC. announced that the Jan. 4 restraining order has been mutually dissolved by both parties.

Harris said, "although we were prepared for a hearing in this matter, we are thankful to confirm that in the best interest of all parties; that a mutual agreement by consent was reached in a private manner as it should have been."

The answer to the petition for protection from abuse stated that Jackson felt that the restraining order was filed out of malicious intent to cause public embarrassment and humiliation. Jackson supplied conversations via text with the plaintiff that showed a mutual relationship.

When filed on Jan. 4, it was disclosed that the plaintiff had a relationship with the commissioner and that he was stalking her.

The plaintiff stated in the restraining order that she ended the relationship with Jackson verbally at the end of November 2022. She then asked that he not stalk herself, daughter, family or any friends. In the answer Jackson presented messages that showed that he ended the relationship in Oct. 2022.

Within the restraining order, the plaintiff attached messages that showed that she was not wanting communication with Jackson. He continued messaging her and her daughter. In the answer, Jackson disclosed messages that showed mutual communication with the plaintiff starting in Oct. 2022 to Dec. 20, 2022.
