Caddo Parish School Board selected a interim board member

In a sparsely filled room the Caddo Parish School Board convened a special session meeting on Thursday, July 20.

During the meeting school board members interviewed and selected an interim board member for the recently vacant District 7 seat.

The board selected Darrin Dixon to serve as the interim board member. Dixon a former school board member said, "a little more than six months ago, I sat around this horseshoe with most of you and my desire to come back is the same reason I ran the first time, for the kids."

Dixon was up against Linda Rasberry Smith, but the board selected Dixon with eight in support.
