Caesar Rodney, St. Mark's take top seeds in DIAA boys soccer tournaments
Caesar Rodney earned the top seed in Division I and St. Mark’s nabbed the No. 1 seed in Division II when the pairings for the DIAA Boys Soccer Tournaments were determined Friday.
The Riders (14-0-1) will play host to eighth-seeded Cape Henlopen at 6 p.m. Wednesday in one of four first-round games in the eight-team Division I tournament.
The Spartans (12-3) were one of four top seeds to earn first-round byes in the 12-team Division II field, along with No. 2 Caravel, No. 3 Indian River and No. 4 Wilmington Friends.
The D-II tournament will start with four first-round games Tuesday, followed by the quarterfinals on Saturday, Nov. 13.
The Division II semifinals will be played Nov. 16 or 17 at sites to be determined. The championship game will be Saturday, Nov. 20 at Dover High, at a time to be determined.
The four first-round games in Division I will be played on the home fields of the higher seeds on Wednesday. The semifinals will be Nov. 16 or 17 at sites to be determined, with the championship game also on Nov. 20 at Dover High, at a time to be determined.
