Cal Fire responds to vegetation fire off Highway 1 in SLO County

The Green Fire is 80% contained, Cal Fire said in a tweet.

Update, 2:38 p.m.:

Forward progress has been stopped on the fire, according to Cal Fire.

A revised Cal Fire estimate of the acreage said the blaze burned 2 acres.

A brush fire in Cambria has already burned 5 acres of land near the old radar station, Cal Fire said.

A vegetation fire was reported at Monte Cristo Place and Highway 1 at 1:56 p.m., according to emergency response app, PulsePoint.

Cal Fire and other emergency units were responding to the scene as of 2:30 p.m.

The Green Fire has the potential to spread to 20 acres, according to emergency scanner traffic.
