Caldwell Arts Council to exhibit the paintings of Karen Parker

May 19—LENOIR — The Caldwell Arts Council will feature the paintings of artist Karen Parker of Statesville. The "Remote Work" exhibition is set to open Friday, June 3 and will continue through Sunday, July 24.

A North Carolina native, Parker has been making art for over 40 years, receiving her Bachelors of Fine Arts degree from UNC Greensboro, and her Masters of Fine Arts from Ohio University in Athens, Ohio. Her work relies on classical masters for a foundation in realistic draftsmanship, accurate use of color and exquisite composition, yet each piece deftly incorporates modern themes and subjects.

A prolific artist, Parker has been exhibiting her work nationally and internationally for over 30 years with paintings included in corporate, public and private collections in U.S. and worldwide; with her last international sale going to Japan.

The Caldwell Arts Council is located at 601 College Ave SW in Lenoir, NC, and is open to the public Tuesday through Friday from 9am to 5pm. For more information, visit www.caldwellarts.com.
