Block Party Cook-off 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. The Bartlesville Police are hosting a BBQ Cook-off. Categories are ribs, chicken, and cook’s choice. Non sanctioned “Backyard competition” and no pre-marinated or pre-cooked meats. Prizes will be awarded. For more information, call Lt. Elkins at 918-338-4001 or email dbelkins@cityofbartlesville.

Light it Up Blue 2023 5K and Fun Run 8 to 9:30 a.m. Registration opens March 1. Packet pick-up 4:30 to 6 p.m. at Paths to Independence, 4620 E Frank Phillips Blvd.

Operation Clean House 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. at two locations: the Phillips 66 downtown parking lot and the District 2 Washington County barn in Dewey. A countywide event for Washington County residents to dispose of hazardous household and automotive good without harming the environment. More than a hundred volunteers are needed to help offload and organize the waste drop off, organizers say. Volunteers will receive a free t-shirt and breakfast and/or lunch. Green Thumb Garden Club Spring Plant Sale at Eastland Shopping Center at 8:30-11:30 a.m. near the theater, We will have perennials, annuals, hostas, houseplants, succulents, herbs, shrubs, tomato and pepper plants, milkweed and butterfly kits.  We will also have free tree or shrub saplings.

Panel Discussion: Alzheimer’s in our Community” from 3- 4:30 p.m. at Elder Care. Panel discussion to raise awareness of resources in our community for those dealing with Alzheimer’s and other dementias. 2023 SAFE-NOW's Walk a Mile in Her Shoes 10 a.m. to noon at Frank Phillips Park, 222 SW Frank Phillips Blvd. SAFE-NOW provides forensic medical exams for victims of sexual assault, child abuse and domestic violence. Get your team together and come walk a symbolic mile downtown Frank Phillips Blvd, wearing our signature red heels. Can’t walk in heels? No problem! Come join us anyway and wear your comfy shoes. This is a fun family Walk event. Lots of prizes and giveaways.

Washington County Master Gardeners Plant Sale from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. behind the Dewey Fairground building Bring wheeled carts and wagons.  Due to construction in the area, parking will be limited to the side and front of the fairground building. Only cash or checks are accepted.

Martha's Task's annual Purse-n-ali-tea party will be held from 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday, April 29, at Good Shepherd Presbyterian Church, 801 SE Washington Blvd. Tickets are $25 each. Tom Mix Museum's “Mixin’ It Up Under the Stars” 55th Anniversary fundraiser begins at 5 p.m. and will feature a chuck wagon barbecue, concert and auction at the Washington County Fairgrounds. The cost is $20 for 16 years old and over, $10 for 7-15 years old, and 6 and under are free. Tickets may be purchased at the Tom Mix Museum at 721 N Delaware in Dewey or by calling 918-534-1555. Or they may be purchased at the event.

In the Kitchen w/ Susan, A Free Healthy Cooking Classes noon to 1 p.m. at the Bartlesville Public Library, meeting room A, 600 S Johnstone. Susan loves to share with us how she has made healthy cooking easy in her own home and brings her best ideas and practices to make us all better chefs. The Salvation Army Women’s Auxiliary will install officers 10:30 a.m. at 101 N. Bucy. The meeting will be followed by a luncheon. The auxiliary is a volunteer organization that is open to all area women. It supports the various programs of the Salvation Army.

“What are YOU Missing?”  - Dr. Andrea Wagner from 3-4 p.m. Give your ears a tune-up and learn more about good hearing health from local audiologist,  Dr. Andrea Wagner. Topics covered include how normal hearing works; different types of hearing loss; an explanation of over-the-counter hearing aids vs prescription hearing aids and when to consider amplification/hearing aids/cognitive implications.  Hosted by Elder Care. The Washington County Health Department will host a free eight-week diabetes Conversation Map® education class at noon on Wednesdays, May 3 through June 21. Go Travel day trip from  9 a.m.-4 p.m. Elder Care’s Go-Travel “A Day of Inspiration” day trip includes transportation, driver, guide, entrance to the Tulsa Glassblowing School, a two-hour glassblowing class, and lunch on the river. Washington County Health Department Pool Operator Course from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. The course is for pool operators and anyone who would like to increase their pool knowledge. WASONO Shrine Club will give out 10-pound bags of Vidalia onions for a $12 donation over the weekend, as long as supplies last. Onion pickup is at the front door of the Bartlesville Masonic Lodge, 610 NE Washington Blvd. from noon-5 p.m. Friday, 7 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturday, May 6, noon-5 p.m. Sunday, May 7 and 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday. However, club members suggest getting there as early as possible because they may not be available still by Monday. The money goes to help the club fund the transport of children to various Shriner's hospitals as well as free popcorn at the Christmas Parade.

The Good, The Bad, & The BBQ fundraiser to benefit programs and services at Elder Care the Hughes Ranch, 63 County Rd 2696, just minutes from downtown Bartlesville on Highway 123. The outdoor fundraiser will be held under a large party tent and includes a BBQ dinner, music and dancing, and live and silent auctions. A cash bar will be available. Antiques and Collectables' 32nd annual Dewey Antique Show from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Washington County Fair building in Dewey. Tickets are $5 each. All ticket proceeds from the show go back into Washington County nonprofit organizations like the Clothes closet for elementary schools, FFA, 4H, Journey Home, ARF, SPCA, Kiddie Park, Dewey Hotel, Tom Mix Museum and a $1,500 scholarship to a graduating senior in Washington County.
