Jan. 23:

—Leesport Area Historical Society presents, "The Daniel Boone Homestead," at Bethany EC Church, 308 Main St., Leesport (parking in rear), 7 p.m. Brad Kissam will discuss the birthplace of American frontiersman Daniel Boone, which is a museum and historic house that is administered by the Friends of the Daniel Boone Homestead. It is located on nearly 600 acres and is the largest site owned by the Pennsylvania Historical and Museum Commission.

—Hamburg Area Historical Society show and tell, 7 p.m., James A. Gilmartin Community Room, Hamburg High School, 701 Windsor St., Hamburg. Bring a favorite historical item or part of a collection to share why it is significant to you. No guns, knives or weapons.

Feb. 5:

—Leesport Area Historical Society open house, 128 Main St., Leesport, 1-4 p.m. See the toy display and tour the four-room schoolhouse that served the Leesport community from 1858 until 1961. See regional and local artifacts including a 1700s Quaker marriage certificate and visit a classroom circa 1940s. Kids are welcome.
