—Takeout chicken potpie sale, Lutheran Church of the Holy Trinity, 102 Apple St., Leesport. Quarts are $10 and can be ordered by contacting Phyllis at 610-926-1004. There will also be pepper cabbage and baked goods for sale. Last day to order is Jan. 21. Pickup is Jan. 28

—One by One Cat Rescue adoption event, Petsmart, 1183 Wyomissing Blvd., Wyomissing, 11 a.m.-2 p.m. Meet adoptable cats and kittens.

Jan. 23:

—Leesport Area Historical Society presents, "The Daniel Boone Homestead," at Bethany EC Church, 308 Main St., Leesport (parking in rear), 7 p.m. Brad Kissam will discuss the birthplace of American frontiersman Daniel Boone, which is a museum and historic house that is administered by the Friends of the Daniel Boone Homestead. It is located on nearly 600 acres and is the largest site owned by the Pennsylvania Historical and Museum Commission.

—Homemade soup sale, Bausman United Church of Christ, 1064 Penn Ave., Wyomissing, Feb. 1-4, featuring chicken noodle, chicken corn noodle, vegetable beef, Italian wedding soups and turkey chili. —Groundhog's Day celebration, Union Kanaal Grundsau Lodsch #17, Myerstown Recreational Park, South College Street, Myerstown, Lebanon County, 8 a.m. Hear what Uni the groundhog has to say about what the weather will be in the next six weeks.

—Hamburg Area Historical Society show and tell, 7 p.m., James A. Gilmartin Community Room, Hamburg High School, 701 Windsor St., Hamburg. Bring a favorite historical item or part of a collection to share why it is significant to you. No guns, knives or weapons.

Feb. 5:

—Leesport Area Historical Society open house, 128 Main St., Leesport, 1-4 p.m. See the toy display and tour the four-room schoolhouse that served the Leesport community from 1858 until 1961. See regional and local artifacts including a 1700s Quaker marriage certificate and visit a classroom circa 1940s. Kids are welcome.

—Reading Philharmonic Orchestra concert, 2:30 p.m., Reformation Lutheran Church, 3670 Perkiomen Ave., Reiffton. The program, directed by Michael Slechta, will spotlight favorites from classical and show repertoire as well as new musical themes. A free-will offering will be received.
