Tallgrass Prairie Preserve Docent Information Meeting 7 p.m. in Conference Room C of the Bartlesville Public Library, 600 S. Johnstone. The docent program promotes TNC’s mission to conserve the lands and waters on which all life depends. The Bartlesville Chapter of SAR (Sons of the American Revolution) meets at 6:30 p.m. at the Bartlesville Library in Conference Room C. There will be a short business meeting followed by the first part of a two-part video titled,” Sons of Liberty." The Sons of Liberty was a secret organization that played a large part in winning our freedom from the British during the American Revolutionary War. Guests are welcome. Bartlesville Area History Museum presents the short film “50 Years of Powered Flight” from 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m. at the museum. Soar into Washington County’s Aviation history with Joe Todd, a retired oral historian from the Oklahoma Historical Society and recipient of the Major General Douglas O. Dollar Distinguished Public Service Award, as he introduces the short film “50 Years of Powered Flight” as part of the “A 50,000-Foot View: The Stratospheric Rise of Aviation in Washington County” exhibit.  Guests are encouraged to bring their own lunch or can enjoy light refreshments provided by BAHM while learning about the Dewey Airport, Billy Parker, Wiley Post and more! Woolaroc Museum's Pickens Gallery Opening 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Wed.-Sun. Exhibition of the late Dr. S. J. Pickens, and Hugh Pickens collection of art. The Pickens Gallery will be located in the Bunkhouse and feature select pieces of fine art from the Pickens' wonderful collection, including works by Native American artists Yatika Starr Fields, Allan Houser, and Fritz Scholder.

Mountain Man Camp/Animal Barn: From 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., through Sept. 4. Learn the proper art of throwing a tomahawk, shoot a black powder rifle, view the inside of a tipi, and see how people lived in the 1840s all within the beautiful grounds of Woolaroc. The Animal Barn will be open as well during normal business hours and is located on the main grounds. The variety of animals is always changing, and may include animals such as rabbits, goats, chickens, peacocks, donkeys, sheep, and more. For more information, go to woolaroc.org/calendar-of-events.

Friday, April 14-Saturday, April 15

Spring Trader's Encampment from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Mountain Man Camp at Woolaroc Museum and Wildlife Preserve. Hosted by Woolaroc's Mountain Men Wes & Roger Butcher, the camp has quickly become a favorite for traders and re-enactors from across the country. The camp will be historically accurate, recreating what a settlement of this type would have looked like in the 1840s. Woolaroc Trail Ride Registration check-in time is from 7-9 a.m. and the ride begins promptly at 9:30 a.m. Lunch and rest period are from noon-1 p.m. at the front gate at the Woolaroc Ranch, 1925 Woolaroc Ranch Road. The trail ride covers approximately 15 miles of terrain and includes lunch. Registration required. Cost is $50. Non-rider meals are $15.
