Calhoun County Senior Expo returns to Kellogg Arena Thursday
BATTLE CREEK — A wealth of knowledge and services will be available inside Kellogg Arena Thursday with the return of the Calhoun County Senior Expo.
The free health and information fair presented by Calhoun County Senior Services will feature more than 100 vendors providing education and services for adults age 60 and older, along with their families and caregivers, according to a release. The event runs from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday.
Coffee, tea, and doughnut holes will be available in the morning, and a free lunch will be served from 11 a.m. until bagged lunches are gone, official said.
Due to construction, the main entrance to Kellogg Arena for the event will be at 40 W. Hamblin Ave., across from the city’s Full Blast recreation facility. Free parking will be available at the McCamly parking structure and in the parking lot at Full Blast, 35 W. Hamblin Ave.
The Senior Expo will feature multiple interactive displays including the Miles for Memories’ inflatable brain and the Cancer Prevention Coalition’s inflatable colon. Area businesses, nonprofit organizations, public services and health care providers specializing in services for older adults will be on hand to answer questions and provide information.
Additionally, Calhoun County Prosecutor David Gilbert, the Red Cross Michigan chapter, United Health Care and Calhoun County Sheriff Steven Hinkley will offer presentations during the event. Miles for Memories will also be registering older adults for their Help Home and ID bracelet program.
