California Fire Authorities Showcase New Helitanker

The Orange County Fire Authority and the Los Angeles County Fire Department jointly conducted “a successful exercise” on November 17 where they showcased a new helitanker with a capacity of 3,000 gallons.

The Orange County Fire Authority said the helitanker, a Boeing CH-47 Chinook, has a drop coverage area of 10 acres.

Reports said the tanker will be stationed in Los Alamitos, and available for fires in Orange, Los Angeles, Riverside and San Bernardino counties. Credit: @OCFA_PIO via Storyful
