California firefighter face salary cuts in revised state budget

Drastic cuts to California's budget are largely due to a recession caused by the novel coronavirus outbreak. Gov. Gavin Newsom and lawmakers approve a budget by mid-June that fills estimated $54 billion deficit. To balance the budget, one of the cuts Newsom is proposing is a 10% salary cut for state employees.
